Become a member of the Social Democrats

1. The period of membership is one (1) year. The period commences when the Party
   notifies the applicant that the application has been accepted, and the prospective
   member has paid the correct membership fee, whichever is the later.
2. The membership fee for 2023 is €20 for those in paid employment. A reduced fee of €5
   is permitted for those who are NOT in paid employment.
3. Payment of the fee may only be refunded where the member changes their mind about
   membership within 7 days of paying said fee.
4. Membership for a continuous period of at least 6 months bestows an automatic right on
   that member to vote in all matters for which a vote is called pursuant to the Party's
   Constitution.
5. Existing and previous members are required to complete the Membership Application
   Form when renewing their membership.
6. Existing members are given a "grace period" of one calendar month from the date of
   expiry of their current membership within which to submit the Membership Application
   Form and the Correct Membership Fee. Where payment of the Membership Fee has been
   paid within the grace period and the Membership Application Form is approved, the
   renewing member's period of membership is deemed to have continued unbroken so that
   the voting rights referenced in condition 4 above are maintained.
